Kennel brag page
This is the outrageous comment I posted on the kennel's brag page. In my defense it should be noted that every other owner who's posted as a satisfied customer also thinks they have the best puppy in the world. Of course, I was a bit embarassed that Tristan's photo seemed to be the only professionally photographed one.
Here’s Tristan at six months and 67 pounds (Cruger/Kaska A litter). He’s another member of the puppy genius club. While waiting to get him I joked that I was going to call him Perfect Puppy as my expectations were so high. Tristan, however, has turned out to be exactly that. It’s so much fun to have such a smart dog although it can be rather startling at times. I’ve learned to be careful how I approach training with him and what I say to him. When he was nine weeks old, I decided to teach him the stay command. He immediately ran to sit at the front door. It took me a moment to realize that I’d automatically been telling him to stay when I went out the front door. The little guy was way ahead of me. It’s only gotten more delightful since then and I halfway believe that Tristan is psychic. He seems to anticipate what I want and will learn a command on the first try. It’s hard not to think it’s a fluke but then he will consistently demonstrate he’s got it. Tristan is absolutely crazy about water and I received a note from his doggy daycare that he was turning on the faucet so he could play with the water hose. When they covered the faucet, he figured out how to get that off too! From the first day home Tristan has been my best buddy, willing to spend hours at my feet when I work at the computer and then happily romping around on his outsized paws when it’s time to play. He’s incredibly mellow but immediately on the alert and protective when appropriate. The only down side to having such a wonderful dog is that I’m embarrassed about all the bragging I do even as I can’t make myself stop. Schutzhund training is next and then I fully expect him to pick a career.
