We're doomed

Tristan and I are going for our BH again tomorrow. Yes, this will be attempt number three. Grrr, so much for wonder dog. Actually, remember it's not the dog's fault, it's the handler. The reason I think we're doomed is that Tristan and I had a perfect practice today. That's what happened last time. We did a great practice run the night before and then total fiasco on BH day.

The strategy this time has been to stop doing protection work for the last several months. Tristan, of course, loves protection and he kicks into high drive when we arrive at the field. The trainer thought having Tristan only do obedience would clue him that he's there to do obedience when he goes onto the field.

Also, last time I played with Tristan a lot the morning of the BH. I wanted to burn off some energy so he wouldn't be too hyper. The problem was I got Tristan so relaxed he was pratically catatonic. Who knows what works best. If we fail tomorrow, I'll chalk it up to over thinking the process - right before I head to a bar to tie one on.
